Ecology - Water tanks and storage
 
 
Every building is equipped with a large water reserve consisting of an underground tank hollowed out of the white rock and connected directly to an Artesian well that fills it.

On the balconies of each building there are additional tanks filled automatically by connected pumps and surge tanks. If desired, it’s also possible to turn off the pumps with a switch and use water heated directly by the sun.

Drainage systems that discharge water coming from the balconies were made in such a way that they can be quickly connected to the underground tanks; this is in case that, in the future, the use of the Artesian wells absolutely must be eliminated.

In an advanced planning stage is another project to install large tanks designed to capture all the rainwater that flows from the central squares and along the internal streets; otherwise this water would be lost to the sea. With a small, mobile, pump-operated system, it will be possible to introduce rainwater into the existing irrigation system, thus reducing or eliminating the use of the wells.
